Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Cronyl iOS companion app and the companion API at
api.cronyl.com. The physical-card shop at
cronyl.com has a separate Shopify store policy.

What Cronyl is
Cronyl is a watch-only companion. It reads a Cronyl Card (tap or Universal Link), shows public on-chain balances, and can notify you when a watched address receives a payment. The app never asks for a seed phrase, private key, or wallet password. Cronyl cannot send, sign, swap, or custody crypto.
Data we process
- Anonymous installation id — created on the device so the companion API can attach cards and preferences to this install. Not your name, email, or Apple ID.
- Push token — Expo / APNs token so payment notices can arrive when the app is closed.
- Public wallet addresses and network/asset labels from the Cronyl Card (and optional destination tags/memos). These are public blockchain data.
- Card identifier from the Cronyl Card URL, used only to resolve the wallets configured on that card.
- Notification preferences and display currency you set in the app.
- Transaction hashes and amounts already visible on public block explorers, stored so Activity / Card News can be shown.
We do not collect your name, email, phone, government ID, seed phrase, private key, or precise location.
Why we process it
App functionality only: register the device, resolve the card, show live balances, show history, and deliver optional push notifications. We do not sell data, run ads, or track you across apps.
Where it lives
- On your iPhone (local cache of cards, balances, quotes).
- On the companion API (device record, watched addresses, push token, preferences).
- Public chain data is read from third-party nodes (for example mempool.space, Solana RPC, EVM RPC, CoinGecko, Binance, Frankfurter) to display balances and prices.
- Push delivery uses Expo, which hands notices to Apple Push Notification service.
Retention
Device, card, and watch records stay until you remove the card in the app or delete the app and request deletion by email. Push tokens are replaced when the system issues a new token.
Your rights
You may request access or deletion of companion-app data associated with your installation by emailing contact@cronyl.com. Remove cards in Settings to stop watching those addresses on this device.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the digital-consent age in your country).
Shop vs app
Buying a physical Cronyl Card on cronyl.com is handled by Shopify and is described in the store privacy policy. That store policy does not replace this companion-app policy.
